Russian antitrust opens case against VGTRK for overly loud ads
MOSCOW, Jul 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has opened a case against state-owned broadcaster VGTRK as it suspects one of its TV channels, Rossiya 1, in exceeding the level of sound in commercials, the authority said Tuesday in a statement.
“During measurement on the television channel of commercials sound ratio, announcements and notices on advertisements and logos of the channel broadcast on April 18, 2016 on television channel Rossiya 1 and the level of sound of interrupted programs, an abuse of volume was revealed in a number of cases within the range of 2.0–4.4 decibels,” the service said.
The law stipulates the admissible range of 1.5 decibels.
The case will be considered on August 10.
